Webinar Description:
Participants with learn how to convert lawns to meadows. Lawns are, for the most part, high maintenance, wasteful, and bad for the environment. As the effects of climate change bears down on our environment, meadows and natural lawns will play an increasing role. Meadows can help with water harvesting and can play a significant role in biofiltration and bioswales.
Participants will also see a green road installation. Green roads and green parking lots are the future.
Participants will see how I create meadows and natural lawns. They will follow various meadows from before, during, and after planting. Along the way, we will discuss the challenges and pitfalls of meadow making and meadow maintenance.
We will focus on the best new grasses and sedges, and point out the workhorses of successful meadows for California gardens.
Learning Objectives:

2. Learn about the best meadow grasses for California.
3. This lecture will serve to help people understand the nuts and bolts of how grasses grow and how they are to be maintained.
